A married couple (Julia Stiles and Scott Speedman) and their daughter (Pixie Davies) move to a town in Colombia so Sarah can take control of a paper mill belonging to her father, Jordan (Stephen Rea). Something strange happens in the community during the celebrations of the Feast of the Holy Innocents: masked children appear in the vicinity of the Harriman family’s house, hiding a great tragedy. Young Hannah has an encounter with these beings and falls ill as rashes cover her body. Later, she is abducted by the children. Doctors cannot explain what ails the girl and her parents discover the secret behind it.
